Hope you are fine and already enjoying your well-deserved summer holidays.

I have a pleasure of sharing the latest news regarding the EURAM 2015 Conference on Uncertainty as a Great Opportunity, scheduled for 17-20 June 2015 at Kozminski University, Warsaw, Poland.

 


 

Prof. Dorota Dobija, Vice-Rector at Kozminski University, in her capacity of the EURAM 2015 Chair, has invited CEEMAN to propose two topics/tracks that would be focused on the issues of a special interest for its members and for the PRME community as well. In the exchange of views we came with the two following tentative topics:

  1. Uncertainty, Leadership and Leadership Development in Dynamic Societies
  2. Uncertainty, Poverty and Responsible Management Education

In order to proceed we would need to:

  1. further develop our proposals to include a more elaborated description of the track/topics, their content and objectives
  2. propose a list of minimum 20 paper reviewers who will volunteer in the paper review process based on the principle “three reviewers per paper, and max three papers per reviewer”

Since the deadline for track/topic proposals is 15 July, we would appreciate to hear from you by the end of the week whether researchers and scholars  from your institution would accept our invitation/kind request to put your name on the list of potential paper reviewers for any (or both) of the above mentioned topics/tracks.

We would also appreciate if they could send us a sentence or two with concrete suggestions/ideas you might want to share with us in order to make our proposals reflect also your thoughts and views on any/or both of the tracks/topics.

CEEMAN members and the association as a whole have been focused on the leadership and change issues ever since our association was established. The lessons learned in the transition process are important also for the uncertainty that we all are facing while moving from transition to transformation. Related to this, as you already know, CEEMAN is planning to launch several joint research projects. Dr Ian Sutherland, Deputy Dean for Research and Executive PhD Director at the IEDC-Bled School of Management will help in these efforts.

With the poverty-related topic/track we would further connect and enrich a series of events that include: PRME Anti-poverty Working Group conference in Managua, Nicaragua on 28-30 July; PRME Research Conference in Chur, Switzerland on 29-30 October; EURAM 2015 in June in Warsaw, Poland; and the WG Conference at Bocconi, Milan, Italy in the context of EXPO 2015 in mid-October 2015. Related to this, the book Socially Responsive Organization and the Challenge of Poverty (co-authored also by researchers from CEEMAN members, including two IMTA alumni: Aleksandra Wasowska and Charles Malgwi) will be officially launched in Managua, while Greenleaf Publishing will promote it also in their ‘Meet and Greet’ session on 3 August at the upcoming AoM 2014 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, USA. Book 2 will be ready for autumn 2015. CEEMAN members are eligible for a special discount for these publications.
